This Week at the Emerson – 4.13.23

Hello Friends,

Art Education reflects our history, traditions, culture, and ourselves by providing an opportunity to reflect on who we are and what we believe in. Through the arts we develop the kind of creativity, ingenuity, and performance skills that enhance our lives.

Engaging with art is essential to the human experience. By the time toddlers are walking they are communicating through artistic expression. Among adults, participating in art directly contributes to a healthy society, such as increased community engagement, and a greater tolerance for the people around us.

The arts challenge us with different points of view, compels us to empathize with others, and gives us the opportunity to reflect on what it means to be human.

With gratitude,
Susan Denson-Guy
Executive Director
