Ballroom & Catering Kitchen

Our spacious and versatile Ballroom is perfect for any celebration, from fundraisers to dances, company parties to weddings. This blank slate can be adapted to fit any theme—it is yours to decorate for any occasion. As one of our most popular venues, this 4,042 square foot space accommodates 270 people with tables or 500 people without tables. A moveable stage and bar are provided.

The catering kitchen is available to use with the Ballroom and includes the following amenities: warming oven, refrigerator, and ample counter/prep space to accommodate all your caterers' needs.

  • Ballroom - 52 feet, 6 inches x 77 feet • 4,042 square feet (excluding the ramp and bar area)
  • Stage (length x depth) - Standard, 20 feet x 8 feet 
• Extended, 20 feet x 12 feet

Ballroom Stage Reconfiguration: The stage may or may not be up for your event. Event organizers must coordinate the Set-Up, Removal, or Reconfiguration of the stage in advance of the event and a $150.00 stage fee will be assessed.

  • Hourly - $105.00/hour (2-hour minimum)
  • Full Day - $1,025.00 (6+ hours)


  • Hourly - $80.00/hour (2-hour minimum)
  • Full Day - $775.00 (6+ hours)

To receive a non-profit rate, the non-profit must furnish a copy of the organization's 501(c)3 letter. Failure to furnish the 501(c)3 letter will result in being charged the General rate for the event. The non-profit must recognize the Emerson as a sponsor in their marketing materials. The Emerson may request proof of this acknowledgment.

Cleaning Fee:

A $175.00 cleaning fee will be added to the rental cost.

    • 8' Banquet Tables (17 available) - These tables measure 30" wide
    • 6' Banquet Tables (10 available) - These tables measure 30" wide
    • 8' Seminar Tables (40 available) - These tables measure 18" wide
    • 6' Seminar Tables (20 available) - These tables measure 18" wide
    • 72" Round Tables (12 available) - These tables seat 10 people comfortably
    • 60" Round Tables (24 available) - These tables seat 8 people comfortably
    • 48" Round Tables (6 available) - These tables are a nice size for a dessert table
    • 30" Round Cocktail Tables (6 available) - These tables measure 42" tall
    • Folding Chairs (200 available)

    These are the TOTAL number of tables and chairs owned by the Emerson. Tables and chairs are shared amongst all three Emerson rental spaces. Therefore, patrons must coordinate directly with Emerson staff to determine exactly how many tables and chairs will be available for your event.

    Renters are responsible for the set-up and breakdown of the venue before and after the event. Failure to return tables and chairs to their storage spaces will result in a $100 restocking fee.


    • Wireless internet is available for a fee of $65/day or $5/hour.
      • If you require WIFI access for your event, please contact the Emerson for additional details.
    • Event organizers should discuss sound and other technical assistance with our theater manager at least two weeks before the event
      • Our event tech is available for $50.00/hour.
      • The use of sound, lighting, projector, screens, etc., are charged separately and are specific to the needs of each event. We can provide a cost estimate for these services. Be aware: renters will be charged for additional items added during event planning or the event itself.

    Alcohol Policy:

    • Absolutely no alcohol served to those under the age of 21.
    • Absolutely NO outside alcohol is allowed in the Emerson. If you would like beer and wine service at your event, you MUST contract that service with Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture.


    • Rocky Mountain Security guards are required for specific events.
    • Check with the Emerson regarding security requirements for your event.
    • Please note, Rocky Mountain Security requires 72-hour notice before any event.
    • Emerson staff will contact Rocky Mountain Security and schedule them for your event.

    Smoke-Free Campus:

    The Emerson is an entirely smoke-free campus, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, tobacco carrying products, e-cigarettes, hookahs, bongs, etc.

    Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire Emerson property, including ALL interior (hallways, stairways, lobbies, tenant studios, public rental spaces, galleries, restrooms, etc.) and ALL exterior spaces (lawn, parking lot, sidewalks, foyers, front steps, exterior landings, entrance ways, etc.)


    Firearms are not permitted on the Emerson premises.

    Cancellation Policy:

    REFUND: A 75% deposit is required at the time the contract is signed. The deposit will be refunded if the event is canceled ten working days before the event.

    • The Emerson will retain a $100.00 administration fee for all canceled contracts.
    • The deposit is non-refundable if the cancellation is made less than ten working days before the event.
