PARKING:

The Emerson has its own parking lot located on the South side of the building on Olive Street. There are multiple designated accessible parking spaces available.
 

ENTRANCES:

Both building entrances from the parking lot have direct access to the first floor for wheelchair accessibility.
 

SEATING:

There are six total wheelchair seats in the back row of Emerson’s Crawford Theater. There are also folding chairs adjacent to each wheelchair seat for wheelchair companion seating. Click here to view a seating chart indicating the locations of handicap accessible (see Theater & Lobby Floor Plan button at bottom of page).

The following spaces also have wheelchair accessibility, along with wheelchair companion seating: Jessie Wilber Gallery (1st level on North side of building), Lobby Gallery (1st level center of building), and the Ballroom (1st level on North side of building). The Ballroom and Crawford Theater spaces have ramp accessibility for wheelchairs.
 

GENERAL ACCOMMODATIONS INSIDE THE BUILDING:

Throughout the main floor of the building you will find:

  • Firm, smooth, level floor surfaces.
  • Accessible restrooms with grab bars and 30″ high sinks.
  • All areas well-lighted and free of hazardous overhangs and protruding objects for people with visual impairments.
  • Visual emergency alarm system.
  • Unobstructed sightline to interpreter in public spaces.

 
Please note: the first floor of the Emerson, as well as all public spaces within the first floor, are wheelchair and handicap accessible; the second floor is not.
