Schools in the Gallery

Our exhibit-centered educational programing offers opportunities for all ages.

At the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture, we believe that vitality, creativity, and ingenuity should be nurtured from a young age and fostered through a lifetime. Therefore, we are pleased to offer the FREE Schools in the Gallery program to public, private, and homeschool groups. This comprehensive and interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to supplement arts education for students throughout Montana.

Stationed in the Jessie Wilber Gallery, participants will be given a tour of the exhibit. School groups will be led by trained docents using inquiry-based methods to teach critical thinking and visual literacy. Teachers may request the additional hands-on art enrichment activity, during which students create artwork inspired by the techniques, materials, and themes within the exhibit.

Tours are available to university, homeschool, public and private groups of all ages.
