Group Show featuring 11 local artists

The Partner Artist program is designed to support and empower local artists in the Gallatin Valley by commissioning artwork that celebrates, honors, describes or envisions compassion as a quality and/or other presence in our community. These works will be auctioned off at the June 14th Art Walk in support of the Emerson.

About the Work

The Compassion Project (TCP), a non-partisan, non-religious organization and project, is designed to bring the Bozeman community and the greater Gallatin County together through education and art in and outside the schools around compassion; what it means, how to recognize it, how to practice it, and why it is important. It is the hope that this will be expanded to other communities around Montana and beyond.

Around 6,000 works will be installed around Bozeman this April with the Emerson housing approximately 4,000 pieces. These 8”x 8” painted panels were created by school groups andcommunity members who participated in compassion workshops held throughout the Gallatin Valley in the fall of 2018. The Emerson has partnered with The Compassion Project for nearly two years to make this large-scale, community art installation a reality.
