Mavericks is a feature documentary film from Montana PBS telling the timeless story of Montana’s freestyle skiing legacy. Stunning visuals from international competitions, archival footage and original cinematography capture the struggles, victories, unsurpassed work ethic and unbreakable spirit of some of the state’s most renowned athletes in a sport where seconds determine the outcome of a career. Filmed throughout Montana and Utah over four years, this previously untold story transcends skiing and becomes a portrait of grit and determination. Featuring notable Montana athletes Eric Bergoust, Heather McPhie, Maggie Voisin, Darian Stevens, Bryon and Brad Wilson Mavericks follows the sport’s rise in Montana from early competitions in the 1980s through the 2019 FIS World Championships.
