HOLIDAY DANCE PERFORMANCE

The 11th annual Nutcracker in a Nutshell, The Dance Center’s quirky and creative take on the famous Christmas ballet. Showing in the Emerson Crawford Theater: Friday, Dec. 18: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19: 2-3 p.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Co-directors Anna Hall and Deborah Yarington have created a sensation that includes children of all ages and experience and has now become a Gallatin Valley holiday tradition. This Nutshell gives the timeless classic a twist.  No two seasons are the same!  With innovative choreography and exciting characters, the Nutshell gives every dancer the opportunity to share the spotlight.

Over 80 dancers will be featured this year including Lila Mann, Clara; Quincey Skovberg, the Nutcracker; Megan Mahoney, Sugar Plum; and Emma Mills, Snow Queen. Returning to the Nutshell this year will be Jack Schwem as the toy builder Drosselmeyer. Nutshell fans will remember Schwem, who danced as the Nutcracker through most of the production’s first decade.

The Nutshell runs a family-friendly 60 minutes, especially suited to those with young children.  In fact, the dazzling show has inspired many young audience members to dance themselves.

Don’t miss out on Nutcracker in a Nutshell! The perfect holiday experience for the whole family.

Ticket Cost and Ticket Sales Location: Tickets for the Nutshell available downtown at Chalet Sports: $20 for adults (13 & up) and $10 for children (2-12).  Tickets will also be sold at the door.
